BIO

After Graduating from the University of Michigan Penny Stamps School of Art and Design in 2015, Hillary (b.1992) moved to Detroit and began her career selling work to private collectors, taking portrait commissions, and teaching drawing workshops. During this time she was invited to exhibit in numerous international group shows, and was featured in ARTIT magazine. In 2022 Hillary moved overseas to Margate, UK, where she has begun to develop a deeply personal series of oil paintings. Drawing inspiration from her family’s heritage in rural Kentucky, this series features cowboys, American landscapes, and distorted children’s toys.

Hillary’s work has been exhibited at prestigious venues including the Fisher Building in Detroit and the Mall Gallery in London’s Trafalgar square. In 2022, her portrait, “Millie” was highly commended at the Royal Portrait Society’s annual exhibition and she was awarded the top jury prize at the University of Michigan’s 2015 undergraduate exhibition.
